Inspired by the warmth and color of the sun, the In the Sun bracelet features the quartz known as the citrine. The citrine gemstone comes in shades varying from yellow to orange to orangey brown, and is the birthstone for November. Citrine was popular for gemstone jewelry in Victorian times, and even today the luminous colors of the stone attract jewelry fans. With the citrine drawing positive energy throughout your mind, body and soul, the In the Sun bracelet has a warmth that glows like the sun.

MIND & SOUL
In your day-to-day routine, do you stop and take time for your mind, body and soul? AGOOA believes in choosing a lifestyle full of actions that are holistic, nourishing you thoroughly.
Thanksgiving may be next month, but waiting once a year to say “thanks” isn’t enough. Gratitude is an important part of our spiritual, mental and emotional health, and getting into a gratitude routine has a variety of benefits. By practicing gratitude, you awaken yourself to noticing everything around you, and what the world gives you. Being thankful for what you have stops you from
being upset or depressed about what you don’t have, while recognizing what’s good about your life lets you experience less stress. As you have an increased positivity in your body, you’ll be driven to make positive choices so you continue to feel gratitude.
To practice gratitude, start a gratitude journal. You don’t need to write a certain number of things you’re grateful for -- just strive for one in the beginning. Write in your journal every day and you’ll be surprised at how quickly you’ll be able to find things you’re grateful for each time you open your journal. Get a journal and your favorite pen, and write out what you experienced today.
ARTS & CULTURE
The redwoods of California are some of the most majestic trees in the world, and you’re about to see them sprout up in Brooklyn, New York -- at least on a smaller scale. This month, Eco-artist Spencer Fitch unveiled his newest art installation, four thousand young redwood trees. The exhibit recreates the California’s Redwood National Park and is installed at MetroTech commons, sprawling over 4,500 acres. To see the saplings, you can view them from a viewing platform or at the ground level. The project was done in partnership with the Save the Redwoods League.
Your skin needs nourishment and attention, and if you need to exfoliate, you can make your own sugar scrub right at home. You’ll only need a few ingredients, and you’ll know exactly what’s in the mixture.
Here’s what you’ll need:
1 ⅓ cups sugar — brown, turbinado or organic sugar
⅔ of coconut oil
Essential oil — your choice
After melting your coconut oil in a saucepan, let the coconut oil cool, then mix it together with the sugar and a few drops of your chosen essential oil. Essential oils of chamomile or lavender will produce a calming effect when you use the scrub before bed, though you can use any oil you desire. Put the mixture in a jar and seal it tight with a lid. Now you can use it in the shower, let the sugar exfoliate your skin, then rinse well. Not only will your skin smell good, but you’ll feel great knowing exactly what you put on your skin. This mixture makes a great gift too.
